WA-SEN was invited to WA State Trio Association’s 2024 Civic Leadership Conference held at Evergreen State College. The theme of this year’s conference was unleashing your superpower and engaging civically.
There were many outstanding current and future community leaders present for the conference. The atmosphere was bubbling with excitement to unleash the potential within ourselves and work as a collective to advance civic engagement across Washington. Conversations were centered around access, representation, and advancing education on the process and possibilities of civic engagement.
During the conference WA-SEN held a workshop centered around crafting your story and engaging with elected officials. Later, Kayla Hoy, WA-SEN Student Advisor and alumni, participated in a panel with Kwabi Amoah-Forson with The Peace Bus and Marc Johnson, student and chapter leader for Evergreen State College’s WashPirg organization, discussing their journey through leadership.
It was an honor to share space with individuals from across the state who are dedicated to creating an equitable and just future for all.
