Your voice is vital. Tell your story. Educate your legislators.
The Why and How of WA-SEN
- We believe hearing directly from students about the student experience is the most powerful tool legislators can harness to make informed decisions.
- We build student networks and give them the skills and tools they need to share their stories with legislators.
- We host an annual Student Summit in the fall, with guest speakers and workshops to improve engagement, organizing, and communication skills.
- We recruit students to participate in legislative gatherings, including town halls, in-district meetings, and community events.
- We offer student grants for projects that amplify student voices.
- We believe training grounded in equitable access to education beyond high school leading through the lens of race and those most marginalized serves all Washingtonians.
- In February of each year, we host students and sponsor meetings with legislators during an annual Legislative Day in Olympia.
